Reiki is a Japanese relaxation technique that  promotes healing of body, mind and spirit. Reiki  is administered through light touch, and often no touch. During a Reiki session, a warm and soothing energy flows from the hands of the person offering Reiki to the person receiving Reiki. This promotes profound relaxation and a release of tension which increases ones flow of life energy. Life energy is an almost indiscernible energy that flows through all living things and  directly affects the health of every living organism. There are many types of Reiki and we respect all lineages. Life Solutions offers Reiki sessions and classes based on the teachings of the International Reiki Training Center, which includes Holy Fire Reiki, Usui Reiki and Karuna (R) Reiki. If you are interested in a session or would have questions please contact Nancy, our Usui/Holy Fire Karuna Reiki Master Teacher.

The benefits of Reiki are many.  If your Chi is full and strong you will feel energized, healthy and happy with life. You will handle your stressors more easily and most likely enjoy an active healthy lifestyle. If your life energy is not strong, you will find it difficult to handle your stressors, you may not sleep well, and you are more likely to become ill and have a negative outlook on life. Maintaining an adequate supply of life energy is a powerful benefit of Reiki and that is why, throughout history, Reiki has been used for healing in both eastern and western cultures.

Reiki energy is self-directed. It finds its way to where it needs to go in the body,  relaxing muscles and increasing blood flow while hastening the healing process. Clients and practitioners report limitless relief from nausea, pain, headaches, sleeplessness and more. Reiki also focuses on the mental and emotional aspects of a person relieving negative thoughts, feelings of anger, fear, worry and sadness  and bringing to them feelings of confidence and calm.

William Rand states, in an article written for the Center for Reiki Research , that Reiki is offered to patients in over 800 hospitals, hospice facilities and clinics as a standard part of care in the United States. He cites a study conducted by Hartford Medical Center indicating that patients who received Reiki show improved sleep by 86%, decreased pain by 78% and decreased nausea by 80%. Anxiety during pregnancy was also shown to decrease by 94%.

In the same article , Mary Lee Radka RN states Reiki reduces pain and decreases stress in her patients. And Dr. Nancy Eos, MD and Reiki Master says Reiki turns wheezing  into breathing and that the intensity of pain and stress is decreased. Other nurses have seen Reiki decrease the negative side effects of chemotherapy and radiation, (Rand, Wm, Reiki in Hospitals www.centerforreikiresearch.org/Articles_ReikiInHosp.aspx)

If you would like to know how Reiki might help you or a loved one, I would love to talk with you.
